It's important to foster a culture of shared learning and growth amongst physicians. It empowers us to deliver the best possible care to our patients.
A passion for lifelong learning to continually improve knowledge and skills has been my primary philosophy that drives me professionally and in training residents. Finding the root cause of the foot and ankle pathology is based on a fundamental understanding of biomechanics and surgical principles and how that impacts the foot and ankle function. I have been involved in podiatric residency training for the past 20+ years and am continually surprised to discover new ideas and techniques while teaching them. Learning is an active process that is a two-way street between the trainee and trainer. I hope to share my philosophy and energy by serving on the CFAR committee.
Dr. Miller is dedicated to advancing foot and ankle care through education, collaboration, and innovation. As part of the CFAR Education Committee, he contributes to an environment focused on case-based learning, evidence-driven practice, and continuous improvement.
He focuses on growing learning programs, encouraging teamwork across specialties, and helping doctors adopt new surgical techniques. His work also shows a strong commitment to mentoring others and supporting the future of the field.
Volunteering with CFAR allows me to bring specialized surgical care to those who need it most. Through our work, we relieve pain, restore mobility, and transform lives. Beyond surgery, CFAR focuses on collaboration and educating our peers to create a lasting impact. It is a privilege to help advance reconstructive care and improve lives.
With experience spanning the operating room, elite athletics, and international sports organizations, Dr. Richards focuses on advancing the role of education in surgical and sports medicine excellence. At CFAR, she works to bridge the gap between clinical research and real-world practice.
Her efforts center on delivering evidence-based learning in reconstructive surgery, podiatric sports medicine, and injury prevention. She is committed to equipping emerging foot and ankle surgeons with practical insight and progressive clinical perspectives that improve patient outcomes.
Growing up, I was involved in competitive athletics, leading up to my time as a collegiate football player. Initially, my drive was fueled solely by the love of competition. Throughout my time in athletic practice, I organically fell in love with my new passion: Learning and Educating. Years after my own time as a player, that love for the classroom evolved into a passion for mentoring high school and collegiate athletes.
Coming from a family with no medical background, my initial goal was simply to serve humanity. Ultimately, my passion for complex reconstruction was driven by a deeper desire to be involved in initiatives much bigger than myself.
This was clearer after returning from a weeklong mission trip with an Operational Footprint to Honduras, not only was my career put in perspective, but my life as well.
Following graduation from Fellowship, I will practice at Shasta Orthopaedics in Northern California training fellows and residents.
I look forward to paying forward the knowledge my mentors gave, using CFAR as a vital outlet to make that impact.
Medical education has shifted dramatically with the rise of smartphones, AI, and online information. While medical knowledge is now widely accessible, distinguishing credible, evidence-based guidance from opinion-driven content remains a real challenge for developing physicians. This gap can lead to errors in clinical decision-making, making critical thinking and practical, evidence-based education more important than ever.
CFAR addresses this directly. Built by physicians for physicians, it delivers expert, factually grounded continuing medical education through two hours of structured didactic and practical discussion per topic. Presenters and panelists share experiential knowledge, debate differing views, and engage with live questions in real time.
What sets CFAR apart is its interdisciplinary, international approach. It bridges the gap between theory and clinical application, equipping doctors to make informed decisions and deliver better patient care in a rapidly evolving medical landscape.
I am honored to support the CFAR team. Any organization focused on making podiatric education affordable, accessible, and high-quality will always have my backing. Contributing my time to help bring this excellent resource to life is a true privilege.
Dr. Windram joined the CFAR committee with a strong sense of responsibility to give back to the community that shaped his surgical philosophy and patient-centered approach.
He values CFAR’s mission of service-driven care and clinical excellence. Through his involvement, he aims to mentor and share knowledge with the next generation of physicians, reinforcing both technical skill and professional purpose.
